My name is Brandon. I am only here today to tell this story because God wasn’t finished with me.  I was addicted to meth for over 20 years. I lost my kids, ruined multiple relationships, had my whole family hating me.  I had lost everything. The best part about God is that He will give it all back to you, only a better version.  I went to Gideon’s Restoration Camp in August of 2022.  I gave my life to the Lord 3 months into the program and my life has never been better.  After graduating in February 2023, God sent me my soul mate.  We have since gotten married.  He has restored my relationship with my family.  He even sent my youngest son to live with us.  I love Gideon’s Restoration Camp.  I am a big part of the camp.  I never thought I was truly valuable until I started serving my Lord and Savior.  Now, I find my value thru my relationship with God.  Currently, I am teaching a class once a week and ministering to the guys on a daily basis!  Thank you God for giving me another chance when I didn’t deserve it. 

My husband battled alcohol and prescription drug addiction for most of our marriage. Gideon’s Restoration Camp was an answered prayer for my family.  The camp is just as it says… a place of restoration,  and that’s exactly what happened to my husband during his stay there.  He was restored.  GRC is more than a rehab. It’s a place where they’re taught that the root to their problems is living a life outside of Christ. It’s a place where addictions and behaviors are met with Jesus. He IS The Way, The Truth, and The Life.  My husband gained the most valuable thing while he was in GRC and that was a relationship with Jesus.  God has provided a place of refuge here for many broken and hurting men.  GRC is a place where ‘men’ are made into men, who God called them to be.  They are immersed into His Word. They’re loved on and encouraged.  They are disciplined and discipled.  They’re taught and witness truth.  They have dignity and are held accountable.  They’re men set free.  I’m thankful for God answering prayers.  I’m thankful for a pastor who answered the call God Gave him.  I’m thankful for a faithful church body.  I’m thankful for the many hands who donate, volunteer and teach to help make GRC what it is.   I didn’t think I’d see husband humble and surrendered, praying and learning, repentant and responsible but Gideon’s Restoration Camp extended their hand to the least of these and being the hands and feet of Jesus,  helped make that happen.  The man I dropped off and the man I came back to was completely different.  I saw something was lifted from him.  He had a light about him.  The way he talked , held himself, looked, smiled, his actions, Everything was different.  I looked into the eyes of a man set free.  From there restoration continued to happen in different areas of our life.  He is now one of the teachers/mentors at GRC and helps other men who were just like him.  He is a man who knows Jesus and lives for Him.  He is a man who loves me.  He is a leader.  He is honest.  He is the best husband and daddy.   I am so proud of who he is today.
