A Vision Brought to Life

Gideon’s Restoration Camp (GRC) was conceived in the heart of Greg Hansen, Pastor of His House Ministries in Winnsboro, TX. Greg waited for years on the Lord’s perfect timing to arrange the circumstances necessary for the formation of GRC. God moved on the hearts of a godly couple who graciously donated property on December 21, 2017. This act solidified the dream, propelling it forward in February 2018.

Gideon’s Restoration Camp is a faith-based restoration/rehabilitation center. It is a discipleship program that focuses on teaching and guiding men into a deeper relationship with God as well as preparing them with life skills. We don’t receive state funding, but we do have a minimal entry fee. However, the majority of our funding comes to us in the form of donations from the community.

In a world where most men are not trained to handle the most basic responsibilities of everyday life, developing a strong work ethic and ideals is a most essential building block for each resident’s future. Vocational training in various skills is provided for residents through services rendered in the community. Residents are also required to develop healthy personal habits and provide upkeep of GRC’s facilities. Maintenance of the buildings and grounds is included as part of their vocation training. Yet even the finest training in job, personal, and social skills alone cannot properly develop a man and prepare him to thrive in and make an impact on the outside world. Men will only find their true potential, fulfillment and restoration through a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Gideon’s Restoration Camp is committed to ensuring that residents have their lives centered on Christ. The Word of God has a prominent place at GRC in personal devotions, classes, and life guidance. Primary emphasis is placed on each man’s relationship to Jesus, to make sure he is not only receiving training to successfully merge back into society but also growing spiritually on a continual basis.
